Snowden sends few journalists a large quantity of NSA documents which includes top secret information. They are asked to come to Hongkong to meet Snowden. Unlike their expectation, Snowden was just an awkward young man. These documents that he had were called “the program”. It began on September 11th 2001at port Maiden Maryland, the headquarters for national security agency. Little after the 911 surprise attack happened unprecedented, the NSA corporate was in somber from guilt that they were somewhat culpable. This is because NSA was created after World War II to prevent another surprise attack like pearl harbor. In the aftermath of this incident they started to question if they cannot foresee a terrorist’s attack, they might as well start to spy on Americans again.

The CIA was under pressure by the vice president. NSA headquarters starts to take aggressive approach. The documentary emphasizes the fact that it was in good intentions until that point. They could collect data through internet trapping all this information to go through everyone’s information to search for terrorist’s conspiring activities. The president asks the director of NSA what is “the program” and if it is legal. They got George Bush’s authorization and permission to develop “the program”. They were expecting that it was going to be revealed one day and be very controversial. They were mostly positive on the idea despite the expected outcome.

Soon the NSA was able to collect data from peoples skype calls and messages online and phone calls as well. The concerns rose as they started to fear what would come next in terms of domestic surveillance and how the criminal justice system would consider this group activity of spying on the American people. The program still grew as this problem kept rising as more people became aware of this and questioning whether this was violating the constitution and privacy. FBI begins their investigation started 9 am. Taking out electronics and papers and searching everything the officials who were involved in The Program. The government turned against the people who were serving it. The president Bush had claimed his authority with the second amendment to make The Program legal. He claimed to people that the activity is saving lives.

Edward Snowden is an American passionate about the constitution. He found out about how much of the information the government truly has their hands on. On of the key document he discovered the document consist of the entire history of the program. He hoped that Obama would pursue transparency and stops the prosecutions. As he realizes that this is not going to be the case Snowden starts his move by contacting top journalists in America. Snowden reveals these documents to the Journalists and disappears, hiding in Hongkong. Edward heads to Russia since his passport has been revoked by the U.S. government trapping him there so they could find him. The news hit hard in America reports making NSA look like they are doing some insane criminal work.
